Tetere, Solomon Islands, 6 May 2022 -- More than 100 young people of Christ the King Parish Tetere, Solomon Islands, came together from 10-17 April 2022 to celebrate the Youth Pasch organized by the parish.

The program began on Palm Sunday and concluded on Easter Sunday. All youth from the Catholic communities of the parish were encouraged to take up leadership roles in organizing the Holy Week celebrations. It was a great opportunity for young people to prepare spiritually and physically for the Holy Week.

On Monday and Tuesday after Palm Sunday they had opportunities for recollection and confession.

Under the leadership of Mr. John Selo and Junnieth Vavaua, they started the preparations for the Way of the cross. After five days of intensive practices, in a spiritual and meditative environment, on Good Friday, they enacted the way of the cross starting from Don Bosco Rural Technical School to Christ the King parish.

More than one hundred youth participated in the dramatized way of the cross. Hundreds of faithful meditatively participated in the event. All were emotionally moved during the final hymn holding the lifeless body of Jesus on the lap of our Blessed Mother. Tears poured out on the faces of many.

At the Easter Vigil the young people and Sunday school children enacted the first three readings from the Book of Genesis; the creation story, the sacrifice of Issac and the Exodus event. They were very creative in displaying the different fruit trees, birds and animals and moving around the Church. The big number of Israelites with kinds of paraphernalia who crossed the Red sea and it was well captured in the hearts of the faithful. The youth and children put up a very wonderful memorable experience for everyone.

On Easter day, the liturgy was animated by the Talaura community. After the Mass the youth organized games and music to make the Easter celebration a super duper spiritual agape experience. At the end of the day all went home with a Wow experience.
