Cebu, Philippines, 29 April 2022 -- A BAMBOO GEODESIC DOME ASSEMBLY workshop was rolled out at the Don Bosco TVET Center-Balamban, Cebu, Philippines on April 8, 2022. This one-day workshop was a collaboration between the Philippine Institute of Architects (PIA) -Cebu, Don Bosco and Bamboo Horizons. The workshop included the basics of bamboo, the computation of a Geodesics Dome and the hands-on assembly of a 6-meter diameter Geodesic Dome.

The same workshop was done last April 6, 2022 at Don Bosco Boys Home Liloan, Cebu.

One of the Bosconian architects, Arch. Bryan Auman, shared his advocacy for bamboo as a sustainable source of lumber for construction together with a colleague, Arch. Eric Nacorda, representing PIA-Cebu and Mr. Robert of Bamboo Horizons who helped facilitate the roll-out of this bamboo workshop.

This workshop is in line with Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban's advocacy for a Green TVET and eventually for providing green jobs to the community.
