K'Long Retreat Center, 18 February 2022 -- On Wednesday morning, February 16, 2022, the Youth Ministry Commission of the Vietnam Province began a three-day meeting from February 16 to 18, 2022 at K'Long Retreat Center.

The meeting aimed to establish the Salesian Educative and Pastoral Project and the animating program of the Youth Ministry of the Province for the period from 2022 to 2025.

After the opening prayer and address by Fr. Peter Nguyen Viet Quang Minh, the Head of the Youth Ministry Commission, Father Provincial, Barnabas Le An Phong, shared some thoughts and gave general guidance. The Provincial emphasized two important things while planning for the Youth Ministry Commission. It is necessary to grasp young people’s needs and link the different sectors and members of the Salesian Family for the missions. He wanted the Youth Ministry members to work with the Head of the Commission for a 6-year term to come up with initiatives in the mission of serving young people to bring many benefits to them.

During the three working days, the Head and the members of the YM Commission together reviewed the reference sources and documents, especially the Salesian Youth Ministry's Frame of Reference and the evaluation tables and suggestions of the works from different communities in the period 2019-2022. After this, all of them pondered and discussed together to be able to set up a plan to better follow the needs of young people, to help them advance in four dimensions: Faith, Education and Culture, Group and Social experiences, and Vocation.

It is hoped that with the efforts of the Youth Ministry Commission along with the cooperation and coordination of the communities, the works in the mission of serving young people of the Province will bring necessary benefits for them and help them to develop their whole being.
