Sumba, Indonesia, 19 January 2022 -- On 22 December 2021, our TVET (BLK Don Bosco Sumba) received a visit from the Governor of NTT (Nusa Tengara Timur - Eastern part of Indonesia) province, Viktor B. Laiskodat. NTT was one of the poorest provinces in Indonesia. He visited us accompanied by the head of government (Bupati) of Sumba Barat Daya, Dr. Kornelis Kodi Mete. The governor said, “As the governor, I give appreciation to Brother (Ephrem) who is helping in developing the human resources here (in Sumba). As we have seen a while ago, there are many skills that are being taught here. Of course as the government, we don’t close our eyes to this reality.”

This visit was the aftermath of the encounter between Br. Ephrem Santos with the Governor in Kupang. On December 17, Br. Ephrem Santos, SDB, the principal of TVET (BLK Don Bosco Sumba), received an award on behalf of BLK Don Bosco Sumba in Kupang, Nusa Tengara Timur. The TVET was appreciated for its inclusivity for women and disabled persons. Many of them are enrolled in our TVET. The award was given by HI (Humanity & Inclusion) and CIS (Circle of Imagine Society) Timor. Out TVET is one of the best practices in its concern for gender equality and for the disabled.
