Don Bosco Tam Hai, Vietnam

By Augustine DoPhuc, SDB

Don Bosco Tam Hai, Vietnam, 16 September 2021 -- Every year, on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, parishes in Viet Nam have many activities to bring joy to the children. This occasion is considered a Tet holiday for children in Vietnam.

This year, amid the pandemic, parishes will certainly not be able to organize as usual. However, instead of letting the children come to the parish, this year, Tam Hai parish took the initiative to go to each of the children’s houses in cars decorated with cute mid-autumn lanterns to give them gifts.

It is known that this creative and love-filled activity took place from September 14 to September 17, with the accompaniment of the parish priest, Fr. Peter Pham Quoc Hung SDB and assistant priest, Fr. John Bosco Bui Tien Dung SDB, along with young people of the parish.

The total gift that the parish temporarily distributed to the children was about 100 cartons of milk, 10 bags of Korean cakes for children. Hopefully this small but meaningful gift will bring a lot of joy to the children in these gloomy days because of the epidemic.
