DBGA Newsletter and EAO Network, 24 august 2021 -- The whole Catholic community around the world has been inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical 'Laudato Si' over the past 6 years since 2015. And this annual occasion of the 'Season of Creation' (Sept 1-Oct 4) will end with a launching of the 'Laudato Si Action Platform' that will guide us until 2027. The DBGA with 450 registered members in 80 countries around the Globe shares a specific contribution in its August 23 Newsletter:

"As we are approaching in one week time (Sept 1, 2021) the Season of Creation, the DB Green Alliance is taking a moment to celebrate its members. In April 2021, the Alliance completed 3 years of foundation. Throughout these 3 years, we have been inspired by the steps our members have taken towards the care for creation. Their work and perseverance have encouraged us, and we want to share their inspirational stories with you.

Through the Season of Creation, we want to highlight these stories by means of videos and webinars. Follow our social media channels for updates, and we hope you will be a part of these celebrations."

One concrete 'integral inspiration' from Africa-Madagascar region is offered too:

"Installation of the solar system is currently ongoing in John Bosco Institute of Technology Obosi in Onitsha Nigeria. The installation is led by Br. Christof Baum and is expected to take three weeks. Renewable energy such as solar energy is one of the key areas that Don Bosco Tech Africa through the Green TVET Project is promoting and advocating for the Don Bosco TVET centres. As we celebrate International Youth Day 2021 under the theme 'Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health', we need to understand the connection between renewable and food systems. Transforming agriculture and food systems toward increased equity, sustainability, and improved diets can only be achieved if renewable energy is adequately considered with the involvement of the young people in the entire agri-value chain."

We are invited all 91 DB Green Alliance members present in all 12 SDB provinces and 17 countries, to share their stories also through AustraLasia news (eao@bosco.link) in order to inspire other groups (Salesian Cooperators), educational institutions (TVET, schools, Youth Center-Oratories) or other Salesian family institutions or Salesian Youth Movement. Let's celebrate the Season of Creation 2021 with our story-telling!
