Tetere, Solomon Islands, 10 August 2021 -- "Bosco Teens" (Sunday School children) of the Salesian parish of Tetere Christ the King celebrated three days of faith formation from 6th to 8th August. Almost 300 children from 15 Christian communities came together to strengthen their faith in Jesus. The theme for the seminar was "Sunday school children Holy, Formed and rooted in faith".

The children of the age group of 4 to 15 years attend catechism every Sunday in our Christian communities.

On the first day Parish Priest Fr. Robinson gave a penitential recollection talk based on the family. The children understood what are the blocks to their loving family. He exhorted them to avoid the stumbling blocks like Criticism, Hostility, Disrespect, Bossing over others, Suspicion, Fighting, Indiffenrce Gossip, and Selfishness. Instead put on unconditional Love in the family. The loving and happy family could be build up through Praise, Acceptance and Understanding, Forgiveness, Giving, Joy, Listening, Trust and Respect.

It was an opportunity for the children to make good confessions and make good resolutions in their life. During this time Sixteen children made their first confession in preparation for their first Holy communion.

On the seconday Ms. Valantina from DBTI Henderson taught the children many Christian devotional action songs. The children enjoyed and rejoice learning many songs praise and worship songs and gave glory to their living God.

Bosco Teens also had faith formation on creed, commandments, Bible lessons, sacraments through vedios and PowerPoint presentations.

In the afternoon children had indoor and outdoor games to build up their friendship and communion with their friends from other Christian communities.

In the evening, a well organised Rosary service was conducted by the teachers to thank our Blessd Mother for their protection and guidance.

In the night the teachers from communities organised Bibles quizzes. The Talent night (dances and songs based on Christan themes) was an opportunity for the children to exhibit their talents and show their love for Jesus. The children enjoyed every program.

Our Bosco Teens animated the Sunday liturgy through procession dances and vibrant singing. All sixteen children who received first Holy Communion dressed in the best white clothes with traditional decorations and attire. They were looking so beautiful in the eyes of God and everyone. The children had an unforgettable experience of their coming together as Children of God.
