Holiness in the Salesian Family - Dossier 2021

By Salesian General Postulation

RMG, 2 February 2021 -- Two years ago thanks to the explicit invitation of Pope Francis (Gaudete et Exsultate) and the still more explicit invitation of the 10th successor of Don Bosco (Strenna 2019: Holiness for you, too!) we have strong motivation to journey closer with the numerous Saints of the Salesian Family. And the large posters of Salesian Family holiness is helping us in our communities, schools, parishes or youth centers to keep on track. As happens every year, in the first month of 2021 too, the SDB General Postulator, Fr Pier Luigi Cameroni, SDB, shares the annual ''Dossier" with the whole Salesian Family, with the new developments around the Causes of holiness in the Salesian Family.

It is not only about the 173 Salesian Family members who are listed by the 'Postulator General' (Fr Pier Luigi Cameroni): 9 Saints, 118 Blessed (most of them martyrs), 18 Venerables and 28 Servants of God - the Salesian Saints annual report is also about us! Each one of our SF saints may become our companion on our daily journey, our guide, our role-model, our powerful intercessor and our mentor.

Depends on our open, interested and attentive heart.

The 15 page 'Dossier' contains the complete list of 173 SF Saints-Blesseds-Venerables-Servants of God and some highlights about specific progress of some 'Causes' and some concrete inspiration from the lives of our Saints.

The Causes followed directly by the General Postulation are 63 and in the EAO provinces are also some confreres - 'Vice-postulators' of the respective Causes - in Vietnam-Slovenia (Fr Majcen), in Thailand (Fr. Della Torre), in the Philippines (Fr Braga) and in Japan (Fr. Cimatti).

The 'Dossier' is an invitation to walk more closely with our Saints: to love them more (reading their biographies), to imitate them (concrete spirituality in mission), to pray to them (asking concrete graces) and to get them known (spreading their models by any means of storytelling or SNS)
