Suva, Fiji, 19 November 2020 -- Last Friday, 13 November, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong was the principal celebrant at the Eucharist to mark the end of the academic year and the graduation of the 2020 Class. Among the graduates were 4 of our confreres - Cl. Damian Taofinu’u, Foua Junior Tea Peato and Sitagisilao Moeloa Vaipuna were awarded the diploma of theology at the completion of their studies in philosophy and introductory theology courses, and Deacon Sinapati Ioane was awarded the Bachelor of Divinity.

In spite of the pandemic restrictions, there were more than four hundred people who joined in the celebrations among them were the secretary of the South Pacific Association of Theological Schools and principals of other theological schools in Fiji, the benefactors of the seminary, family and friends of the graduates.

This was a day of great rejoicing especially for the graduates. Our confreres spoke with gratitude about their parents and loved ones and about the Salesian Family that accompanied them along their journey.

Now, these four confreres of the Class of 2020 look forward to returning to Samoa. Deacon Sinapati has been assigned to the community in Salelologa taking up duties at Don Bosco Vocational College and the parish of St. Francis de Sales, and beginning their Practical Training are Brs. Sitagisilao and Foua also in Salelologa, and Br. Damian has been assigned to Don Bosco Technical Centre in Alafua as teacher and assistant.

Congratulations!

We invite you to pray for more Salesian consecrated vocations in the Pacific Delegation!
