Salesian Alumni Association: the venue for continuous formation from the Salesian institute

Hat Yai, Thailand, 10 November 2020 -- On 7 November 2020, the Alumni Association of Saengthong Vitthaya School, Songkhla Province, under the leadership of Mr. Phudit Phong-acha, organized the 9th Football Tournament of the Alumni Reunion. This was held at the 'Kick Off Arena' in Khlong Wa. Fr. Bancha Kitprasert SDB, Rector, declared the tournament open.


In this tournament, there were 23 teams which participated [each team comprising of 20 players], divided into 3 groups, namely, the elderly, the juniors, and the open category. There was an enjoyable atmosphere throughout the matches. At the end, the trophies were handed to the winners.


Furthermore, the Alumni Association of Saengthong Vitthaya School, Hatyai, was established in 1978, with the aim to promote unity among the members, to create a grateful attitude, repay the education received from the school, do merit-full activities for society in general, cooperate with the Salesians and take part in the development of the school. At present, the Association has existed for 42 years, and the incumbent president is the 13th.


The Salesian Province of Thailand promote the establishment of the alumni associations to help them continue the education and formation they have received from our institutes, and to help them build a strong life-foundation for the good of society and the Church. In 1999, the alumni association of each institute gathered together to put up the Salesian Past Pupils Federation [Thailand]. Dr. Wanlop Chiaravanont is the present president of the Federation.
