The FIN Province, 2 October 2020 -- VocTok: Usapang Bokasyon at Buhay-Buhay (loosely translated as Talk on Vocation and Life Matters) is a weekly online broadcast anchored by the FIN Vocation Director, Rev. Fr. Jayson David, SDB, aiming to reach out to the youth and young-at-heart who are currently discerning about life and vocation this time of pandemic.

It also showcases the talents of their various young people who voluntarily send their recorded videos of prayer, worship, and reflection. This online hang out is being live-streamed on the Salesian Vocation – FIN Facebook page every Saturday at 6 pm (PHT).

This evening show has already completed four episodes, featuring the guests who responded to the call to religious vocation. These include Rev. Fr. Mark Anthony Cerada, SDB, a Salesian Priest; Cl. Anthony Rodriguez, SDB, a newly professed Salesian; Br. Jose Maria Castillo, SDB, a Salesian Brother and Missionary in Amazon, Brazil; and Sr. Javy Romanos, FMA, a Salesian Sister.

Rev. Fr. Jayson David, SDB assures in the previous episode that the show will not focus on religious vocations alone, but will feature guests on different vocations of marriage and single blessedness who may be a writer, a doctor, a police officer, a teacher, etc.

In the past four episodes of VocTok, many viewers were inspired by the sharing of the guests about their life experiences and vocation story. The number of viewers increases in each episode as the public engagement also arises through question-and-answer portions, shout-outs, and giveaways.

Youths from different religious organizations such as Salesian Youth Movement, Missionaries For Christ, CFC-Youth For Christ, and Salesian Aspirants participate in the show by sharing their God-given gifts through arts and music. In fact, even the staff behind the scenes of VocTok are also youth themselves!

Many youths are now hooked by the show who are sending their reflections on each episode, which is in turn acknowledged on the succeeding episodes as a recap, with a prize of VocTok’s very own Asin + Ilaw shirt for the chosen viewers.

This active engagement of the youth gives way to the VocTok’s new segment called, “Sabi ni Katambay,” (loosely translated as "viewer says") featuring the artworks and quotations made by their viewers.

VocTok: Usapan Bokasyon at Buhay-Buhay keeps on improving each week with the help of the youth and benefactors. It will continue to reach out to the youth and young-at-heart who are currently discerning about life and vocation this time of pandemic.

The upcoming fifth episode will be featuring two seminarians namely, Asp. Ryan Paulo Tulaylay and Asp. Monico Alexander Flores. Everyone is invited to join in this online hang out and witness how these two aspirants first heard and responded to the call of God in their lives.
