By Fr. Manuel Fraile, SDB

This year the Salesian Missions Day was celebrated within the great week (Aug.24-29) of the Bicentenary, as an homage to Don Bosco “the missionary”.

For the first time, it was attended by members of the various groups of the Salesian Family, who enjoyed the double presentation:

1st. Brief History and Geography of the Salesian Missions (by Fr. Manuel Fraile, SDB-DMA):

    1. Don Bosco’s missionary heart: his missionary dreams and enterprises (expeditions)...

    2. Project America, with maps and photos of first missionaries-pioneers.

    3. Project Asia (id.)

    4. Project Africa (research on power point ready, but postponed due to lack of time).

2nd. Great FMA missionaries (by Sr. Alma Castagna, new FMA Provincial): with selected portrays of the first team of very young FMA missionaries sent to Patagonia and some others, including a short video of Blessed Maria Troncatti.

The event as a Salesian experience pleased everyone, leaving behind a yearning for more...
