Paranaque, the Philippines, 24 July 2020 – FIN Provincial Superior Fr. Gerardo Martin, SDB, installed today Fr. Roneldo Vilbar, SDB as the new rector of the Bl. Istvan Sandor Salesian Brothers' Formation House.
Before his appointment to the East Asia and Oceania Regional Formation for the Salesian Brothers, Fr. Ronel served as Novice Director in Cebu, and then rector of Don Bosco Lilo-an.
The installation took place during the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by Fr. Martin. Some confreres from the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians Paranaque, Bl. Philip Rinaldi and Seminaryo ng Don Bosco and Rinaldi Communities joined in the celebration.
The community of Bl. Istvan Sandor is comprised of four formators and 10 formands for this formation Year 2020-2021.
Assisting Fr. Ronel in the animation of the community are Fr. Stephen Placente, SDB (Vice-Rector and Prefect of Studies), Fr. Richie Santos, SDB (Spiritual Moderator), and Br. Conrado Lagaya, SDB (Economer).
There are five second-year brothers and four first-year brothers in formation coming from the countries of Vietnam, Japan, Italy, Philippines, and Madagascar.
The former rector, Fr. Arnold Sanico, SDB served the community for six years.
