The 23rd Don Bosco Youth Film Festival in Seoul

Seoul, Korea, 29 September 2019 -- The 23rd Youth film festival hosted by Korea Salesian Society took place at the Province Main office in Seoul, Korea on 29 September, 2019. The main theme of this year's film festival is ‘a divine person’ and it was selected by the Rector Major's Strenna 2019. More than 100 films were submitted including a short film, documentary and animation all directed by the youngsters. Among these, 10 pieces of work will be awarded by the Korean government-support organization known as the Film Promotion Association of Korea. The awardees are benefited when they get into University.
This event was originally initiated 23 years ago by Salesian Br. Bosco Park Kyung-Suk who inspired youth who are fond of making films or working for this field. This has become the very first Film Festival only for the youth in Korea since then.
Not surprisingly, to become a Youtuber sits in the highest ranking where the most of the youth indicate what they wish to be. Thanks to this, their skill-set has been amazingly advanced and their attention to this field is very keen. Our prayer is that in EAO - Not only Korea, also the rest of the Salesian family in EAO, this kind of new media movement using visual arts and its good impact on the youth could be found more often.
