At the ceremony they were accompanied by the SDB Provincial of Hungary Fr Béla Abraham, Br Géza Nádudvari provincial economer and several other confreres and members of the migrant Vietnamese community in Budapest.

The three missionaries, James Nguyen Hai Ly, Domonkos Pham Quoc, Hung Savio Domonkos, and Pál Tran Dinh Biet, are Salesian priests. In 2005 they arrived in our country from distant Vietnam. Here they completed their studies at Sapientia Monastic College, made their perpetual vows, and were ordained priest.

Father Nguyen Hai Ly Jacob was ordained priest in Szombathely in 2013, served in Óbuda, and is currently a member of the Peli-Szentendereszt community, serving in the Oratory of Nyergesújfalu. Thanks to his special talent and outreaching spirit, the environment is enhanced everywhere with art - wall paintings, nativity scenes and wooden toys.

Father Pham Quoc Thai Hung Dominic Savio was ordained priest in 2013 at Kazincbarcika. With his outstanding musical talent he is able to play many instruments and contributes to the choir singing. He is currently in charge of the Oratory in Szombathely.

Father Paul Tran Dinh Biet was also ordained a priest in Szombathely in 2013, currently a member of the Salesian community in Újpest, the parish priest of the Clarisseum in Újpest, and a priest for the local Vietnamese migrant community.

May God assist them in their further ministry!

The Salesian province of Hungary was the first in Europe to welcome new missionaries in a systematic way since 2005. Together with the Hungarian Salesians there are missionary confreres from Vietnam, India, Nigeria and Poland serving the young people, especially through the education ministry in Oratory, School, Parish and Training center. The SYM and Salesian Family are a very lively reality.
