Bangkok, Thailand, 17 July 2019 -- Since the beginning of the youth center in Valdocco, Don Bosco had given importance to music, whether it be choral music or instrumental music. The Salesian house, the Salesian school, then, would have the choir, the musical band until the present day. For Don Bosco, "the Salesian house without music is like a body without a soul."

The Salesian schools in Thailand have encouraged their students to practice their ability in music, which bring them joy, create a festive atmosphere on different occasions and help them grow holistically. In order to attain the proper standard, the musical groups would participate in various competitions. Lately, Huahin Vitthayalai School and Sarasit Phithayalai School have sent their musical groups to join the competition.

The marching band of Huahin Vitthayalai School, Prachuabkhirikhan Province, competed in the Concert Band Showcase at the Music and Marching Arts International - 2019. This was held at the main hall of the Cultural Center of Thailand, Bangkok, on 17th July 2019. The school band received the 'gold medal'.

The marching band of Sarasit Phithayalai School, Banpong, Ratchaburi Province, received the Silver Medal for the Indoor Showband Division 1 at the Musical and Marching Arts Championships of Thailand 2019. This competition was organized by the Music & Marching Arts International Association on 30 June 2019 at the Indoor Stadium - Hua Mark, Bangkok.

The Salesian schools of Thailand sent their 'warm congratulations' to the two schools that received the honorable price, and encourage all the students to develop their skills along this line.
