Lam Dong, Vietnam, 1 June 2019, 42 Salesians gathered in the Salesian Retreat Center, Lam Dong province to take part in the Quinquennium Seminar. Different from previous Quinquennium Seminars, this one was held with the presence of Salesian priests and Brothers in the Quinquennim period [ordination for priests and perpetual profession for Brothers].

In two days, under the animation of the members of the Provincial Formation Commission (Rector of Prenovitiate, Novice Master, Vice Provincial...), the Seminar dealt with various topics: 1- Spiritual accompaniment; 2- Salesian consecrated priesthood in line with the Salesian Rector’s Manual; 3- The EPC in the local community; 4- Introduction to the Post-synodal apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit.

How to be a genuine Salesian for the young of today in Vietnam is constantly a challenge for all Salesians. These four topics and group discussion sessions somehow helped the participants to review their Salesian identity as consecrated persons as well as their ministries...

In spite of the short period of the Seminar, all participants felt the seminar very helpful and expected the coming quinquennium seminars would be continued on a regular basis and with more substance to help this specific group of working confreres to respond to the needs of the young.
