Nairobi, Kenya, 24 May 2019 -- On the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, there was an ordination mass held at the theologate in Utume, in the capital of Nairobi in Kenya for 9 Salesians. Archbishop Anthony Muheria who is bishop of Nyeri was the main celebrant of the holy mass.

Among the new batch of Deacons, there were two missionaries from Vietnam: Deacon John Baptist Bui Nhu Cao and Joseph Nguyen Tuan Anh. They were sent by the Rector Major as missionaries to ZMB Province (Zambia-Namibia-Malawai-Zimbabwe) Zambia in 2013 as practical trainees. They spent the last 4 years in the specific formation house of theology in Utume - Nairobi.

On this special day, we praise God and pray for His blessing upon the new deacons, especially for the two missionaries in their journey Ad Gentes, so that they will be faithful and dedicated in their service of God wherever they are. Wishing for them the Word of God in their motto "the Word of God is the lamp for my step and the light for my path" (Ps 119:105) that the Word of God becomes the source of their light and help.
