EAO, 18 May 2019 -- A few days before the opening of the first EAO Regional Formators Workshop of the Salesian Cooperators (May 24-27), we are able to share the preparation journey's fruits, numerous materials that will be reflected on by 60 participants - Salesian Cooperators, SDB and FMA Delegates in Cambodia.

The Salesian Cooperators of Cambodia - Thailand province and the SDB Delegation of Cambodia (Delegate Fr Roel Soto), together with the Sihanoukville community (Rector Fr Eugene Xalxo) are happy to host this event and the final preparations are underway. Our gratitude and prayers goes to them.

As part of the 'searching for formation inspiration', our EAO region got in touch with the organizers of another ASC Inter-provincial formators workshop of the three North American provinces (US West, US East and Canada), that will be held on June 28-30.Probably the richest and most complete resource website of the ASC around the world (USA East province) https://donboscosalesianportal.org/official-family-groups/salesian-cooperators.

Thanks to the tireless effort of our World Councillor for the EAO Region (2014-2020) Mr Philip Yu, the good preparation in each EAO province and hard work of the small preparatory team, the following materials are already accessible on the net:

  • Provincial Progress Reports on the 'Youth Project' (2017-2019) after the Tokyo Congress in May 2017
  • Provincial Formation Survey Reports about the good practice, methods and challenges in each province
  • 50 Interviews related to ASC Formation by the SDB-FMA Delegates and Salesian Cooperators in the region

Formation is the key to the future, as one of the young Salesian Coopetors is sharing: "The thing that makes me grow in my Salesian Cooperator vocation and mission is the continuous formation that I get. If there is no formation, my vocation as a Salesian Cooperator also stops. The formation I undergo every two times a month (first and second Sunday of the month). Although at times, I have difficulty in attending such meetings, it is through those formation meetings that I have grown in my vocation and mission as Salesian Cooperator."
