Videos and animation notes

By Our Own Correspondent

RMG, 16 May 2019 -- After a successful video-animated Novena to Mary Help of Christians last May 2018, this year too, in the line with the Beatitudes of the Salesian Family, the Rector Major shares a short video message for each day on the ANS YouTube Channel in 6 languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Polish).

Each day one Beatitude with one outstanding testimonial - witness is selected. On the 2nd day (May 16) Venerable Mons. Vincent Cimatti was chosen as the champion of gospel meekness and a Good Shepherd-like heart. The short video meditation concluded with a short message - comment.

It is a powerful expression, in this world, where people quarrel everywhere and from all sides there is hatred,

where we continually classify others for their ideas, their habits,

and even for the way they talk and dress.

It is the realm of pride and vanity, where everyone believes they have the right to raise themselves above others.

However, despite it seeming impossible, Jesus proposes another style: meekness.

Mary, small and defenseless, a ball of tears under the cross.

What will happen to us if we let revenge, aggression and violence win?

The value of man no longer matters.

The words of Jesus on meekness appear truly as words of another world.

Jesus announces the blessedness of the meek and the gentle, of the non-violent and of the kind.

In a world of clenched fists and cruel millstones that crush everything,

we open our arms as a sign of love, reconciliation and peace.

To react with humble gentleness, this is holiness.

(Day 2 - Rector Major, Fr. Angel F. Artime)

Let's take this precious opportunity to animate our Salesian environment in the school, youth centre, oratory, parish or boarding houses with these simple tools available on YouTube.
