Salesian Cooperators of FIS province growing younger

Cebu, the Philippines, 13 May 2018 -- As you can see on the photos there is variety of apostolic experiences of two local centers of Salesian Cooperators in Cebu City, Philippines (one it attached to FMA community and one to SDB house). Our members try to follow the 2018 Strenna of the Rector Major with the whole heart in 'Listening and accompanying' the young people. Our meetings should be creative to draw young people in our Salesian Cooperator Centers. Since the DB 200 (Bicentenary in 2015) the number of Young Cooperators in Cebu have been increasing steadfastly.
Our FIS-ASC Province has at present time Aspirants in all of our Centers scattered in four islands of the Southern Philippines: Island of Cebu (6 centers), Island of Mindanao (1 center in Mati), Island of Panay (1 center in Ilo Ilo), Eastern Samar island (1 center in Borongan) and 3 centres in Negros island.
However there are still some SDB communities without Salesian Cooperators - this is our main challenge. We are looking to a fixed ASC provincial 'office', we invest in the formation of formators with the ongoing study of the renewed (2015) ASC Formation Guidelines and we try to be more connected to the vibrant SYM movement of the SDB-FMA in our province.
Please, pray for us, that we may be able to reach out to the young people, also in the digital world! We try to organize also a simple social communication formation session for our senior members, so that may be able to understand a little the new digital playground of our young people!
