FIS - Cebu Province

Cebu, the Philippines, 29 April 2017 -- During past 3 years FIS Province has 10 Centers and 300 Salesian Cooperators with an average age 50-60 years.T there is one more new Center in Cebu - Liloan Don Bosco Home and total of 43 newly promised members, one center in Negros has average age of 20+ years. We are growing through the enthusiasm and initiative of our members especially around the DB 200 Jubilee. We are scattered in 4 islands - Cebu, Negros, Samar and Mindanao.


Our Provincial Council Meeting has regular meetings on 2nd Sunday of the Month and we held regular Annual Retreat and Lenten and Advent Recollection/Formation, Local Convention and Provincial Council Visitation to Local Houses. Every other year we participate in the Salesian Family Encounter and Formation and every year we celebrate in special way the Blessed Alessandrina da Costa Anniversary. On-going formation to the different local centers is offered to the aspirants.


There is a variety of Active Provincial Projects of Apostolic Work

  1. Enthronement of Mary Help of Christians in the Houses of Members with their family
  2. Salesian Cooperators are active in the different Parish Council around Cebu
  3. Catechism Classes in the Youth Centers during Summer Holidays
  4. Medical and Dental Mission offered to the different less fortunate communities
  5. Prison Ministry as ASC contribution to the City’s need for their spiritual formation
  6. Feeding Program in the Salesian Parishes
  7. Salesian Cooperators offer their financial and educational assistance to the Seminary
  8. ASC render their service during EAO Salesian Family Meeting in Cebu, 2016 November
  9. Fund Raising Program for the help of the Parish where they belong
  10. In Barili, Cebu a Salesian Cooperator promotes the devotion to MHC to the natives; while in Bantayan Island, Cebu for the fishermen
  11. Fund Raising Dinner for a cause to help and support financially Street Children in Don Bosco Boys’ Home - Liloan

Our major source of income and key expenditure items:

  • Monthly Collection of P100 per member in the different centers, donations from generous sponsors and pledges from generous Salesian Cooperators

DB200 related activities and inspiration

  • National Salesian Family Encounter in Cebu and EAO Delegate Meeting in Cebu with the presence of the Don Eusebio Munoz and World Delegate to the Cooperators Fr. Casti.

New PAL related formation

  • Intensive Reading and Personal Study and Local Delegate are giving reflections on the PAL to the members
