Quetta and Lahore, Pakistan (FIS), 30 August 2019 -- From 24-30 August we have had the honour of a visit from Fr. Guillermo Basañes, Councillor for the Missions.
During these days Fr. Basañes has been able to visit the two Salesian houses we have in Pakistan: Quetta, on the border with Afghanistan, and Lahore near the border with India.
In a special way he was able to have courtesy meetings with the Bishop of Quetta, Bishop Victor (OMI); and with Archbishop Sebastian (OFM) of Lahore.
He also devoted much of his time to talking with and listening to the six Salesian confreres who live in Pakistan: three Pakistani confreres: Fr. Noble, Fr. Samy and Br. Faraz. Three missionary confreres: Fr Joel and Br Alex from the Philippines, and Fr. Gabriel From Mexico.
Fr. Basañes celebrated the Eucharist with our children and young people in the boarding schools and offered the Good morning talks to all our students and staff.
He also spoke with our seven candidates and the new group of three Salesian Cooperators.
It has been a precious time for us to improve our Salesian and missionary vocation.
