Salesian Missionary Animation Manuel published

RMG, 26 July 2019 -- The result of a long journey, a new edition of the 'SALESIAN MISSION ANIMATION: MANUAL OF THE PROVINCIAL DELEGATE' (PDMA) was recently published in five languages: Italian, Spanish, English, French and Portuguese by the Mission Sector (SDB - Rome) as the 70th title of their publications. The previous edition of the Manual was released in 1998 in 7 languages. The presentation of the Manual was already published in the Acts of the General Council no. 425 in 2017 by Fr Guillermo Basanes, General Councillor for the Missions.

With an attractive layout, the 100 page booklet contains not only the Mission Animation part, but under the 'Annex' (70 pages) includes

1. Missionary Formation of the Salesians of Don Bosco (ed. 2013) with clear indications for each SDB formation stage as well the specific missionary vocation ad gentes.
2. Salesian Missionary Holiness - presents 10 very attractive Salesian holy missionaries: Cardinal John Cagliero, Saints (Martyrs) Bishop Louis Versiglia and Fr Callisto Caravario, Blessed Louis Variara, Venerable Francis Convertini, Venerable Vincent Cimatti, Venerable Joseph Vandor, Venerable Rudolf Komorek, Venerable Attilio Giordani, Servant of God Andrew Majcen and Servant of God Constantino Vendrame. This part concludes with a brief sketch of Salesian missionary spirituality and a profile of the Salesian missionary ad gentes
3. Missionary Groups - does introduce the importance of Groups and Movements in the Salesian Youth Ministry, Goal of each Missionary Group and brief outline of Missionary groups within the SYM (Salesian Youth Movement) with own missionary journey and activities.
4. Salesian Mission Volunteering - presents the summary of the recently published 'Salesian Missionary Volunteering' (SMV) with the main elements of the sending community, the welcoming community and the basic principles of SMV.

We are happy to share this good news with every Salesian province and community. Definitely this thin booklet should be in hands of each Salesian, especially those who are present among the young or entrusted with the animation of Youth Ministry, Social Communication or Missions.
