EAO Region, 7 September 2022 -- The 400th anniversary of St. Francis de Sales' death and the related Strenna of the Rector Major for this year has stirred good movement around all 12 provinces of the EAO region. What are the fruits so far?
Starting from the ANS (Salesian news agency: https://www.infoans.org) an amount of St Francis de Sales related events or materials produced around the 7 Salesian regions have been published. And all Salesian Family members can take advantage of the January 13-16, 'Salesian Family Spirituality Days' - the talks are still available on the EAO-SF YouTube channels in 7 languages.
Within the EAO Region, the Strenna commentary of the Rector Major and the Strenna video presentation were translated into the 7 main EAO languages. Some of the provinces are using these materials for Salesian Family formation or recollection gatherings. Some provinces have chosen meditation on St Francis de Sales spirituality for their 2022 annual retreat or have invited some St Francis de Sales expert to preach the retreat.
PGS Vice-province: A new hymn entitled 'For Our Dear Patron Saint' was composed on the lyrics of late Fr Arthur Lenti, SDB (+2022) by Fr Savio Angelo Sanchez. The lyrics and music scores are available on his Facebook page.
KOR province shares daily (=365 days of this year) a one sentence simple quote from St Francis de Sales on their SMS, to remind the confreres of some traits of his spirituality.
THA province has just finished a 3-day Seminar animated by Fr Wim Collins (UPS lecturer) in Hua Hin, open to all Salesian Family members and Lay Mission Partners.
FIN province has been conducting a monthly 'St Francis de Sales' series of talks since May 2022, given by Fr Joel Camaya. So far all 4 talks are available on the Youtube.
Let us give thanks for our Patron Saint and try to get him know a little bit more and especially to make our own his spirituality in our daily life.
