Second meeting of the ECG (EAO Coordinators Group)

Manila, the Philippines, 23 August 2017 -- After the first initial encounter on August 24, 2016 in Manila was held the second regular annual encounter again in Manila, Makati SDB Provincial house. On Wednesday morning gathered in the Board room five sector coordinators with the EAO Regional councilor, Fr. Klement - Formation (Br. Raymond Callo), Youth Ministry (proxy of Fr. Jobeth Vivo - Fr. Martin Macasaet), Fr. Adriano Satura (Economy), Fr. John Chong Jae Jun (Salesian Family) and Fr. Felino Gueco Jr (Secretary). The present coordinators of Missionary Animation and Youth Ministry were absent.
Just five months after the EAO 2017 Team Visit in Hua Hin, the Coordinators put together the Job description, Guidelines and Protocol for the annual meetings of each sector. Together with the list of available confreres prepared with a degree or longer experience in the respective sectors these tools become a guarantee for more effective animation fruits of the EAO regional meetings.
Fr. Klement shared four basic conditions for fruitful conduction of the regional meeting: (1) Clear plan with few processes that we can effectively focus on as province or region; (2) Guarantee the continuity of the processes (province, region); (3) EAO sector meetings as venue of ongoing formation for the delegates with other participants and (4) Synergy between the different sectors at the province or regional level.
Then the EAO sector coordinators went through the 2018 EAO meeting calendar and shared their experience with a new-comer, the recently appointed EAO coordinator for the Salesian Family - Fr. John Chong from Korea. As fruit of this dialogue emerged a strong suggestion for the first EAO meeting of provincial delegates for the Salesian Family.
Following the EAO 2017 Team Visit the Group shared about practical follow up of the 14 action points of the Rector Major, suggested more effective use of the Resources on the Boscolink website (www.bosco.link) and discussed how to improve the synergy among the six main sector of Salesian Life and Mission.
Next ECG meeting is scheduled for 22nd August 2018.
