10th Successor of Don Bosco for two weeks in the EAO region
EAO, 20 February 2017 -- We are happy to welcome again the Rector Major in our midst. During next three weeks Fr. Angel F. Artime will spend one week in Vietnam (February 20-27), then will come back after the first Team Visit in South Asia (Chennai, India) back to Thailand to meet the confreres and Salesian Family in Hua Hin (March 6) and finally the RM will preside the EAO Team Visit in Hua Hin (March 7-10) and leave back to Rome for the intermediate session of the General Council.
First leg of his visit - Vietnam animation visit, February 20-27
Ten years after the previous visit of Fr. Pascual Chavez in 2007, the successor of Don Bosco is again visiting the most numerous province of our Region. During 6 full days Fr. Angel will stop in 3 zones (Ho Chi Min City, Dalat and Thai Binh) - in each place the priority is the longer encounter with the Salesian confreres, Provincial council and later on also with the Salesian Family and the Young. In Ho Chi Min City the RM will also bless the cornerstone of the new Provincial house.
Second animation visit - Thailand animation visit, March 6
After last year visit to two other countries of the THA province (Laos and Cambodia), this time one full day is dedicated to the Salesian confreres and provincial council in the morning. In the afternoon hours the meeting with the Thailand Salesian Family (9 different groups).
Third moment - EAO Team Visit in Hua Hin (Thailand) March 7-10
Among the 8 team visits scheduled for two years 2017-2018, our Region is the second in the row. The Rector Major and six of his Councilors will gather for 4 full days in Hua Hin with all 11 Provincial councils of the Region, total number of participants almost 100! A precious moment of communion with the world wide Congregation and formation for the provincial councilors does happen every six year!
Next visit of the Successor of Don Bosco to our Region is scheduled for January 2018 in Timor Leste - Indonesia.
During these days we remember also the VIE - Mongolia Delegation confreres, who celebrate their Delegation Mini-Chapter (Assembly of the confreres) in Ulanbaatar on 20-22 February presided by their Delegate Fr. Paul Leung.
