Wisma Salesian Don Bosco Jakarta, Indonesia, 11 May 2022 -- On 24 April, Fr. Joseph Phuoc, SDB (EAO Regional) visit INA vice-province for the first time. He arrived at Wisma Salesian Don Bosco, Post-novitiate in the evening. Fr. Andrew Wong, SDB as Provincial of INA gave a simple welcome speech and invite Fr. Joseph to visit Our Blessed Lord in the chapel. The young confreres precented songs and speech after dinner.
It was a great opportunity for the Post-novitiate “Sacred Heart” Community to hear a conference given by Fr. Joseph about the overview of the EAO Region on Monday, 25 April. There are different challenges for each community and province. But there is also a same way to do the mission which is our charism, namely the preventive system. Personal and community witness of Don Bosco's charism is the strongest method to proclaim the gospel in different settings. Fr. Joseph had the opportunity to visit Sumba and Tigaraksa.
On 3 May, the joy of this visitation was crowned by the celebration of Golden Jubilee of Salesian Profession of Fr. Andrew Wong. Fr. Joseph said, “How lucky you (INA vice-province) are to have such a holy and good provincial like him.” Fr. Wong said in reply, “You have to be better than me”. This joyful celebration was attended by ADMA, Salesian Cooperators and their aspirants, Salesian Novices, FMA and our benefactors. Fr. Joseph left our community on 4 May.
