Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 12 April 2022 -- The training program took place from April 5 to 8, 2022 at the provincial house of the Vietnam Province, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City. 20 brothers in practical training and another 3 brothers who had applied for mission Ad Gentes attended this course and they were accompanied by Father Joseph Do Duc Dung, the Provincial Councilor for Formation.
In the morning of April 6, the brothers studied the first topic presented by Father Dominic Tran Quang Liem, the Rector of Phuoc Loc community: Salesian practical trainees, difficulties and challenges during the practical period of the Salesian assistance.
Then in the afternoon of April 6, the brothers visited Cau Bong pre-novitiate community, about 30 kms away, and listened to the sharing of Fr. Rector Joseph Doan Hai Dang, about “Skills to accompany young people”.
In the morning of April 7, Father Augustine Tran Do Phuc presented the topic: “Young people are the priority objects of love, care, and pastoral education of the Salesian practical trainees.” In the afternoon, the brothers shared their specific apostolic experiences in their communities. After that, they had a football match with the theologians at Rinaldi Xuan Hiep theological community football field, about 2 kms away.
And finally, in the morning of April 8, the Provincial Councilor for Formation presented the topic: “Saint Francis de Sales - the inspiration for Don Bosco’s preventive system.” Then, the practical trainees commented on the content and the organization of the training course. The training course ended after lunch in the joy of family spirit and reunion.
