Tan Cang, Vietnam, 8 April 2022 -- At 16:15, on April 7, 2022, on the occasion of returning to visit Vietnam’s homeland, Father Joseph Le Quoc Hung SDB and Father John the Baptist Nguyen Duc Tin SDB, currently missionaries in South Sudan and Bolivia, visited Don Bosco Tan Cang Community.
The visit of the two missionaries has brought a special atmosphere to the community here, especially for boarding students. As soon as they arrived at the community, they had talks with the students and played sports with them. During these precious times, they have brought the youngsters new and fascinating information from the mission country in which they live. The students showed great interest when they heard about the living background of young people of the same age in distant countries with different cultural characteristics compared to Vietnam.
The two missionaries also shared that the most valuable baggage of a missionary is having God with them, living with God and for God, and that is a source of strength to help them spread love to their brothers and sisters in mission areas. They also expressed their happiness because they were dedicated to serving the mission Ad Gentes, bringing God to all peoples. In particular, they also encouraged the students here to pursue the desire of a vocation to the priesthood, to become the Lord’s disciples in the future.
In the evening of the same day, they shared a family meal with the community. And in the morning of April 8, Fr. Joseph Quoc Hung offered a mass to pray for the community and boarding students. After that, everyone took a souvenir photo together, marking a memorable occasion for the community.
