Bangkok, Thailand, 22 July 2021 -- During the past days of July, The Salesian Society through the Planning and Development Office of the Thai Province organized the project "Don Bosco Pending Meal" to distribute food to those affected by Covid-19, including also the poor, migrant foreigners, and the homeless in Krungthep Kritha area. They are practically living around the Salesian Provincial Office. Food could be received free of charge at the eateries which has the sign "Don Bosco Pending Meal" hanging in front of the store. Food can be brought home to eat.

This project aims to express the will to help the people in order not to remain hungry and the eateries not to close, during this time of the Covid - 19 pandemic, due to the strict implementation of the safety measures to control the spread of the virus, by avoiding eating inside the restaurants. The owners of these places has been strongly affected, making many people loose their income. Some lost their jobs, and many others do not know their future.

Confronted by this situation, we have seen generous people so willing to make give-aways, whether rice, dry foods, etc. This way might answer the immediate needs, but how can we make this more sustainable?

"Don Bosco Pending Meal" is another project that receives the money from donors to buy food in advance "so that" those who are hungry but without money may enter and eat in the store with a poster: "Don Bosco Pending Meal". This allowed the people who have "to give", the hungry "to eat". The significant point is that this project helps the various businesses to get some income, making this a win-win and triple win activity.

In this Covid-19 crisis, what can fly afar and fast like the virus is "the good heart" of the social people. In whatever ways and ingredients, the important element is the heart to share.
