Myitkyina Don Bosco - Kachin State, 1 August 2020 -- Nothing could ever separate us from loving Jesus Christ and our founder Don Bosco. We are grateful to the Good Lord for giving us the strength and wisdom to do a one-and-half-day course for our mission partners in Myitkyina (Kachin State) on 25-26 July 2020. This is the very first time in the Vice-Province of Myanmar that this kind of course for our mission partners is being conducted. It takes place at Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre, Myitkyina.

The main theme and intention of this course is to help our mission partners what does the “The Preventive System and Volunteering” mean. This first course' participants are twenty: four religious and 16 Salesian lay mission partners. All the Salesian mission partners were trained in the same house where they are not only trainers but also are trying to become educators.

We end up our short course with a very interesting and enriching moment of sharing experiences and of evaluation of the past years. This moment is experienced with the intention of knowing how to help the young in a better way in the future to come.

The Don Bosco Vocation Training Center in Myitkyina is the only Salesian work in the Kachin state (Northern part of Myanmar). Since 2000 the Salesian community is developing a Vocation Training Center for the local young people in need, who are threatened by multiple challenges of ongoing armed conflict, drug addiction and poverty.
