Letter to the Salesian Family of Myanmar
Anisakan, Myanmar, 23 September 2017 -- Fr. Joachim Ye Maung, SDB, in charge of the preliminary stage of the process of Fr. Fortunato Giacomin, SDB wrote a letter to the Salesian Family in Myanmar in order to collect the testimonial materials.
Dearly beloved Confreres, honorable FMA Sisters and all esteemed members of the Salesian Family and friends:
I am here once again after a month or so to request for your precious contributions regarding the holiness and the favors and graces you and your communities must have experienced through Fr. Giacomin’s intercessions. After praying so much to him through novenas and prayers, God certainly must have granted us many heavenly favors through his intercessions.
We need to collate all these facts and figures to prove that Fr. Giacomin is truly a man of God, who lived with us. Only a handful of people will not be enough to prove and propose him fit for the altar, instead our whole Salesian Family in Myanmar, who had lived with Fr. Giacomin should contribute his very best towards the cause of Fr. Giacomin. It would be a great honor for the Salesian Family in Myanmar, if the first step of Fr. Giacomin’s cause be accepted and approved by the Postulator and his team.
Our Regional Councilor Fr. Klement Vaclav has requested me, if I could prepare the dossier about Fr. Giacomin to be ready by the end of November 2017. I have literally ransacked through the old photos, libraries and the house chronicles to get as much as possible the life story of Fr. Giacomin. But these historical facts are not enough, it is up to us to prove that Fr. Giacomin was really a man of God, throughout his life.
So far I have received very few informational contributions. Let us excite our communities, Don Bosco Salesian Family mebmers and all those who knew Fr. Giacomin, to pray more to him through novenas and prayers, for graces, favors and miracles.
Let us pray to Our Lady for the success of this cause of Fr. Giacomin. It was Our Blessed Mother who brought Fr. Giacomin to Myanmar.

Almighty God,
Your faithful servant Fortunato Giacomin, missionary in Myanmar, a fervent Salesian priest, proclaimed and witnessed wholeheartedly the Gospel especially to the poor and young.
You gave him a strong faith, unfailing hope and tireless zeal to serve the poor and lead to Jesus.
You sent him to root the Salesian charism through teaching, spiritual direction, inspiration and selfless help to many poor people in Anisakan.
Help us to follow Jesus like him, with tireless zeal, undivided heart and loving kindness.
Let our lives be a continuous praise of You, who live and reign forever and ever.
