Nazareth House in Anisakan welcomes Cardinal Charles Bo

By Fr. Bosco Zeya Aung

Nazareth House, Anisakan, Myanmar, 28 January 2020 -- On the way to the episcopal ordination in Lashio (29 January) of our confrere, Fr Lucas Dau Ze, many of the distinguished guests stopped at Nazareth House in Anisakan. We were happy to share a few moments in family with songs, in the name of 166 boys (grade 7-10), eight Salesians and six young lay volunteers of Nazareth community. Also our provincial Fr Charles Saw and provincial of Kolkatta-India Fr Nirmol Gomez were present.

Our confrere Cardinal Charles was welcomed by one of our Nazareth Boys:

'We are very happy to welcome you to our family, to our Nazareth Home. A home that is still very dear to our beloved Cardinal Charles Bo. We count your visit to us as the blessing the Lord has given us today.

We are happy family of 166 boys, 6 volunteers, 3 practical trainees, one Salesian Brother and four Salesian priests. Our is a family full of joy, coming from al parts of Myanmar. We believe that joy is a fruit of love. Here we all feel loved by the Good Lord. We feel loved by the Salesians and the Salesian too, feel loved by us... The Salesian Brothers and Fathers accompany us to become upright citizens and good Christians. And we, on our part, accompany the Salesians to find their way to holiness and so we accompany each other on our common road to holiness.

There are some of us who would like to become Salesian Brothers and Fathers. Pray, that the Lord may choose many of us! Who knows, of one of us may even become a Cardinal, like you..."

Then our Salesian Cardinal, Archbishop of Yangon and President of the FABC replied in a family way: his hope was that the boys will do their best, like all those who have lived in Nazareth House over the last 60 years and followed their role model. Cardinal Charles stressed that many of them really became good Christians, some of them also Salesians of Don Bosco like the Coadjutor Bishop elect of Lashio, Fr. Lucas Dau Ze, who also studied in Nazareth Aspirantate: "Do your best every day with a joyful heart!"

The episcopal ordination is scheduled for 29 January 2020 at 8 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Lashio, Myanmar.
