Seoul, Korea, 23 July 2022 -- Some of the youngest ADMA groups in the world were founded recently in South Korea, first in Gwangju (2017) and the second in Seoul (2021). Due to the pandemic restrictions the first-ever encounter in person took place on July 21-23, 2022 in Neri, the Salesian Retreat House (SDB) on the south-western seashores of Korea.

Twenty-four ADMA members, including 3 aspirants, shared their time in joint prayer, sharing, formation - information and living together for 3 days to strengthen their identity. There are many signs of growth including care from the spiritual animators, thanks to support from both Korea's SDB and FMA provincials. The two centers of Seoul and Gwangju are slowly growing in numbers. Just recently (May 24) another 8 new members made their promise in Gwangju during the Eucharist celebrated by the SDB province ADMA spiritual animator, Fr Henry Woo. Thanks to last year's 2nd EAO ADMA (Online) Congress, many feel strengthened in their identity and sense of belonging as ADMA members and have more confidence to spread Marian devotion and invite their friends to join ADMA. ADMA is also becoming more known within the larger Salesian Family in South Korea.

The whole 3-day program was carefully prepared by the Seoul and Gwangju center leadership with assistance of Neri rector, Fr. Stefano Yang, SDB - a great supporter of ADMA and author of some popular Catholic spiritual books on Mary. Refreshed through interaction with the Salesian Family spirit and strengthened in their bonds, both ADMA centers pledge to contribute their best to the Salesian Family in Korea, made of 8 different groups: SDB, FMA Sisters, Caritas Sisters of Jesus, ASC, VDB, ADMA, Past Pupils of DB and Past Pupils of FMA.
