Brother Mario Bois receives 28th Ilga Award

Seoul, Korea, 1 September 2018 -- In the Grace Hall of Mil-Al School (Seoul, ROK), together with other two Awardee, Salesian Brother Mario Bois, SDB was awarded a prestigous the 28th "Ilga Award" for his 'life-long dedication in the technical education of the poor young people. Indeed his Salesian Brother commitment in the vocation training started in Italy, continued in his missionary life, since 1964 in South Korea, Sudan, Guinea Equatorial and China, with other 'outings' to Mongolia, Kenya and other Salesian technical institutions requesting his qualified assistance over the year. With his high skills in the field of mechanics Br. Marino assisted in founding or growth of many Vocation Training Centers in Asia and Africa in past 54 years.


The Awarding ceremony was attended also by many Salesians, FMA Sister, Don Bosco Past Pupils and students of DBYC Vocation Training Center in Seoul, Shin Gil Dong.


years in many countries, mainly 30 years in Seoul and then 16 years in China. Then the Italian Missionary shared his dialogue with one student some 10 years ago in Ulaanbaatar Don Bosco Skills Training Center (Mongolia): "Brother, why do you live like this?" And Br. Marino pointed: "I feel happy as a Brother, who follows the will of God."


In his reflection about long years of outreaching commitment, upon the request of his superiors to help in few countries of Africa and Asia, simply emerged his life philosophy: I'm ready to go anywhere, where I'm needed! And my dream? 'My only hope and dream is to start a technical institution in North Korea to teach the young people technical skills. When the time arives, I will be there right away! I would be grateful to your prayers, to make this dream come true!"
