A New Cardinal for Myanmar (MYM)

VATICAN: January 4, 2015 – During today's mid-day Angelus prayers in St Peter's Square, Pope Francis announced that there will be 15 new cardinals electors (and another 5 new cardinals -beyond the voting age) who will formally be installed at a ceremony called a consistory on Feb. 14, 2015. Two of the new Cardinal Electors are Salesians. One from Venezuela: Archbishop Daniel Fernando Sturla Berhouet and the other from our own EAO Region: Archbishop Charles Maung Bo from Myanmar.

He will be the first Cardinal of Myanmar; and it seems to be an appropriate time to have the honor of having a resident Cardinal in Myanmar, especially after they celebrated the Jubilee for the Catholic Church's 500th year presence in this nation, last November 22-23, 2014.

The pictures are taken from the Archdiocesan files.

Dear Reader...

In the austraLasia news about the new Cardinal for Myanmar,
there is an error at the description that was made about
Archbishop Daniel Fernando Sturla Berhouet.
He is from Montevideo of Uruguay,
and NOT FROM VENEZUELA.

The mistake appeared twice.

Thank you,
