Don Bosco hits the South Eastern Globe

SIHANOUKVILLE: 23rd May 2007 -- They call it 'Cambodia's most colourful' and it is all of that - the opening page is also a little lurid - but if you are prepared to wade through 45 very colourful pages of photos and text on Cambodia in a pdf download of the South Eastern Globe (which can be found at www.se-globe.com, you will see a familiar face - Don Bosco!
The text is brief, but it reads thus:
"Cambodians can now hear about the life, times and work of Saint Don Bosco (sic) in a series of 60 minute radio programmes on Don Bosco Sihanoukville (DBS) radio.  The local church said it was seeking to increase its media presence and has also set up a website at www.catholiccambodia.org which features information in Khmer, English, French and Spanish.  The media campaign also hopes to help Cambodians realise the positive ways in which the media can be used. Don Bosco organisations are an important presence in the country's aid community, providing education and training in a wide range of areas".
One suspects this is a result of some good work being done by a young Colombian Salesian, trained as a journalist, and now working in Sihanoukville.  No doubt we will hear more.
