ARCHBISHOP MENAMPARAMPIL GETS HUMANITARIAN AWARD
GUWAHATI: SAR News, 31st August-- Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil SDB, of Guwahait, has been nominated for the 'Lifetime Achievement Humanitarian Award' by the Fr. Aurelius Maschio Foundation, Mumbai for his efforts to build peace and reconciliation as well as for his humanitarian services in Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon districts of West Assam during the ethnic clashes. Archbishop Menamparampil played a key role in launching the ecumenical forum called Inter Church Peace Mission which mobilised support and launched relief and peace efforts. The intervention and the services of the Church have been hailed by the Assam Government and the Human Rights Commission.
