'BEHOLD THE WOMAN' GETS PAPAL AWARD

From The Examiner, Mumbai.

MUMBAI: 17th Nov -- 'Behold the Woman' a very novel book on Mary, edited by Sr. Philomena D'Souza fma from Bombay India and published by Don Bosco Youth Animation, New Delhi has been chosen for the Yearly Award of the Pontifical InternationalMarian Academy.  The Award was conferred by the Holy Father on Oct.29 during the VII public sitting of the Pontifical Academies under the ageis of the Pontifical Council for Culture.

Behold the Woman was written by a team of sdbs, fmas and lay people as part of the Youth Animation series. This appreciation of a Salesian book on Mary by the highest authority in the Church is a recognition of the relevance of our Marian Charism and Marian Youth Spirituality in today's context.  In fact, 'Behold the Woman' was chosen for this year's Award for its innovative and inculturated approach in presenting Mary as a Woman relevant to our times.  The Marian themes are presented in a very attractive manner in the form of 33 ready-to-use sessions comprising Scripture, dogma, discipleship, womanhood, liberation, devotion and a very useful appendix on feasts, shrines, apparitions, rosary services and poems.  This is the first time that a book published in India has been chosen for this Award.
