COMMON MISSION STATEMENT - FR VECCHI

ROME: 3rd November -- Two additional sets of resources have been added to Bosconet: (1) All of Fr. Vecchi's letters, including interim letters as he took over and the final letter completed by others after he died but based on notes he had put together, and (2) the Common Mission Statement of the Salesian Family, by Fr. Vecchi a year before he died.
The letters of Fr. Vecchi are available as a single, downloadable zip file.  The CMS is available as a hypertext document, meaning you can select sections to read according to need, simply by clicking on the relevant numbered item in the index.  The same document is also available on the central Rome-based Web Portal, though not in hypertext version.
This latter item is being highlighted here in 'austraLasia' because from time to time the 'where can we find it?' question is put to this newslink, and also because this month celebrates the third anniversary of its release.  As Fr. Vecchi indicates in his 'presentation', it is an inspirational, rather than a doctrinal item.  It calls on each member of the Groups of the Family for a commitment that is Salesian - and spells that out in some detail.  Excellent for reflection on key terms like: mission, communion, apostolate, salesianity, young people, challenges, education, advancement, evangelization.   You may now find it in two places - online, at least!
The Vecchi collection is part of Bosconet's continuing effort to make all the letters of Rectors Major available online in English, at least since Fr. Ricceri's time.
If either of the above hyperlinks fails to work go to www.bosconet.aust.com
