About the 29th anniversary of the arrival of Don Bosco to Cambodia, here some representative photos of this history in preparation to the 30th anniversary for next year:

On May 24, 1991, Father Valter Brigolin and Br. Roberto Panetto, Italian Salesian missioners in Thailand, arrived to the Pochengton Airport in a 45 minutes flight from Bangkok.

The first four Salesians in Cambodia (Br. Roberto Panetto, Fr. Valter Brigolin, Fr. John Visser and Br. Conrado Lagaya), opened the first technical education programs for youth from poor communities and got support to create different workshops such as electricity, welding, automotive, electronics and printing.

Thanks to all benefactors that have sent funds and equipment to make the dreams of many youth real. Here the arrival of a truck sent to Don Bosco Phnom Penh by Fr. Zuffetti of Italy.

The Salesians have been sensitive to the realities of poverty and marginalisation. The children of Poipet have been always an interest of Don Bosco and it gave the possibility of a new presence in that city at the Thai-Cambodian border.

The Don Bosco Children Fund is the other wing of Don Bosco in Cambodia. Going to the most marginalised villages to look for children and gave to them the opportunities of a better life with the help of many benefactors, lay people and teachers.

The statue of Don Bosco in Poipet portrays the attention of the Salesians for children like these. The models were three of the first children admitted at Don Bosco Poipet that opened in 2000.

Thanks for a long list of donors and benefactors that have allowed the continuity and sustainability of Don Bosco in Cambodia, among them, groups and persons like Sawasdee Foundation, SSCR, Kindermissionwerk, SES experts, Misereor, the Salesian procures and many others.
