Bangkok, Thailand, 29 January 2024 -- On 27 January 2024, the Salesian confreres, the Salesian Family, and the faithful, numbering 600 people in all, celebrated the 60th year of the establishment of Don Bosco Church - Bangkok. H.E. Cardinal Michael Meechai Kitbunchu, the Archbishop Emeritus of Bangkok Diocese, gave us the honor of presiding at the celebration together with Fr. Anthony Boonlert Paneetatthayasai, the Salesian Provincial. On this occasion, the priests, the religious, the members of the Salesian Family, and the faithful congratulated the Cardinal on the occasion of his being Archbishop for 50 years and his being Cardinal for 40 years.

In the afternoon, after the agape, there was the celebration of the Salesian Family led by Fr. Dominic Savio Suphot Riungam, the Delegate of the Salesian Family in Thailand. Two hundred members of the Salesian Family were gathered, composed of Salesians [SDB], the Salesian Sisters [FMA], the Salesian Cooperators [ASC], Volunteers of Don Bosco [VDB], Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary [SIHM], Daughters of the Queenship of Mary [DQM], The Sisters of the Queenship of Mary Immaculate [SQM], The Mary Help of Christians Association [ADMA], and the various Federations of Past Pupils [SDB, FMA, SIHM, DQM].

On this occasion, the gathering watched the video of the Rector Major sharing the 'Strenna 2024'. After the viewing, the members were divided into groups in order to share ideas and reflections on the theme "THE DREAM THAT MAKES US DREAM". The afternoon activity ended with the solemn sending off of the Thai missionary - Bro. John Boonmee Charoonsakorn - a missionary to Africa. Everyone gave their encouragement to the new missionary. They offered prayers so that he could fulfill his mission to announce the good news with zeal.

In his closing remarks, Fr. Dominic Savio Suphot Riungam expressed his gratitude to all the members of the Salesian Family who gave their wholehearted support and who helped create a truly family atmosphere. May there be this continuous cooperation for the good of the Church and the youth of Thailand.
