JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation) Sector, CSJ, Rome, 21 July 2022 -- Seven years after the Laudato Si Encyclical of Pope Francis on 'Caring for our Common Home', and one year after their 18th General Chapter, the Caritas Sisters of Jesus are enthusiastically practising their four-fold Common Home commitment. The GC18 even asked to appoint one sister specifically for this Saving of Creation mission.

Sr Evangeline Min, CSJ (Caritas Sister of Jesus) from Korea was appointed to the JPCI desk in the General House: " The last General Chapter decided (regarding the JPIC) 'to register in the 'Laudato Si Platform' promoted by the Catholic Church and to promote this movement, create a team of young sisters in each province and vice-province. Sincerely, until my appointment I didn't pay much attention to the JPIC field. Now after the recent appointment to the JPIC desk at the Congregation level, I'm trying my best to study Laudato Si-related materials. I have registered with the Laudato Si Action Platform (LSAP: https://laudatosiactionplatform.org) and am currently participating in a journey guided by the LSAP."

Through the Caritas Sisters of Jesus Congregation Facebook page you can see the many results of the GC18 deliberations within all 16 countries where the Sisters are living: a weekly street environment related campaign on Friday; tree planting - recycling - no plastic use etc; education of children, youth or their lay mission partners (from kindergarten, to high school students to hospitals) or good night talk messages and publications. From Pucallpa (Peru), through Brazil (Juazeiro) to Japan (Tokyo) or Korea (Seoul).

In a recent (July 20) Goodnight one Caritas Sister of Jesus reflects on 'ecological conversion and ecological sensitivity', while watching a recent Korean Catholic TV presentation on a new publication by Seoul Auxiliary Bishop Timothy Yoo Kyong-cheon. Her reflection covers 'practising ecological conversion', through ecological sensitivity as an integral life-style even in small ways (preventing waste, saving energy, avoiding selfish consumerist mentality etc).

In their 6 year Vision of the Congregation, the Caritas Sisters of Jesus state: "...We come out of ourselves and listen to the cry of the wounded Earth and the Poor. We walk together to protect the dignity of life in all Creation. We proclaim the Gospel of Joy with our simple life and ‘heroic love that gives life’.."
