149th Salesian missionary expedition pilgrimage

to the Salesian Holy places

Colle Don Bosco, Italy, 25 September 2018 -- The last week of immediate preparation for our missionary send off at Valdocco (September 30) all of our 25 new Salesian missionaries spend in our Holy Places wher our Salesian charism was born - in the familiar places of Don Bosco, of Mother Mazzarello, of Saint Dominic Savio, of Mamma Magaret, of Cardinal Cagliero or of Don Cafasso.

For all of us coming from four different continents this is a rare opportunity and I am personally very happy to have pilgrimage to these places. These days it's like touching the heart of Don Bosco and the saints who collaborated with our Father to serve the young.

I feel the heart of Don Bosco as well as of the other saints. They always turned to God, Mary and the youth. Their life is always entrusted to God, collaborating with God's plan with a simplicity in a humble way of life and a with passionate love for God and for others.

Don Bosco, Mother Magaret, Saint Mazzarello, Dominic Savio ... have become effective instruments in God's hands. During these few days of pilgrimage to the Salesian holy places my heart is deeply touched. I have realized that in our Salesian missionary life we should be also like instrument of God's love to serve with a simple and humble heart. I pledge to devote all my life to the mission, for the glory of God and for the salvation of souls.
