Salesian in Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand -- On Saturday 28 July, 2018, family, friends, Salesian Family and SDBs from all over the country gathered at St.John Bosco Church, Bangkok to give thanks and celebrate 50 years of the priesthood of Fr.Valentino Sosio as well as 25 years of the priesthood of Fr.Paul Prasert Somngam and Fr.Simon Bancha Kitprasert. The Mass was presided over by Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB.
At the end of the mass, the congratulations and souvenirs were given to the three Salesians by Fr.Thepharat Pitisant, the Provincial, as a representative of Salesians in Thailand including the congratulation message from Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil and luncheon afterwards.
Fr.Valentino Sosio is a Salesian missionary who has worked in Thailand since 1956 (62 years until now). He is now serving Salesian at Nazareth House, Banpong, Ratchaburi. Fr.Bancha Kitprasert is now the Rector of Saengthong Vitthaya School, Hat-Yai, and Fr. Prasert Somngam is Parish Priest at St.Joseph Church, Chumphon, in his time as a Salesian, he served as the Provincial during 2011-2017 and Provincial Vicar for many years.
