Darkhan, Mongolia, 1 January 2018 -- Fr. Simon Lee SDB, has been installed as a rector of Don Bosco community of Darkhan by Fr. Paul Leung SDB, the delegate superior of Mongolian delegation, on December 31, 2018 in Don Bosco chapel. It was witnessed by all the 10 Salesians working in Mongolia. In January 1, 2018 he was also installed as a parish priest of Maria Auxilium Parish, Darkhan by His Excellency Wenceslao Padilla the bishop of Mongolia. Almost 200 people were present to witness the installation ceremony including all Salesians in Mongolia and other priests and religious from the prefecture.


Fr. Simon Lee, SDB hailing from Korea is one of the pioneers of the mission in Mongolia started 17 years ago. A man, who has a great love for the young especially the poor, he has also a love for nature, ecosystem, farming and cooking. He is a simple and generous hearted man with a great dedication for the service of the young. He became catholic only when he met Salesians in Korea in his adult age. He is strong in faith, very religious, pious and very humble. For past 5 to 6 years he has been in-charge of printing press and farm in Darkhan city. In the beginning of December he received appointment letter from the Rector Major to be the rector and parish priest of Darkhan.


The delegation of Mongolia expresses its gratitude to him for being available to serve Darkhan community with the best of his ability and assures him of full support and collaborations.
