Lospalos, East Timor, 30 May 2017 -- Every year there always a formation gathering of those in initial formation (Pre-Novitiate, Novitiate and Post-Novitiate) during semestral break which last two or three days. This formation gathering was pioneered by Fr. Manuel Pinto in 2007 when he was Delegate for Formation then in the time of Fr. Andres Calleja as Provincial.
The objectives of this gathering are: being together among the young candidates and young salesians in order to get to know each other; Study and reflect together the life of Don Bosco especially in his young age; doing some practical activities which are useful for their apostolate for the young.
One of the practical activities that the Delegate of Formation together with his team realized these past two days was Scouting. They were 66 person all in all: 26 Pre-Novices, 14 Novices and 26 Post-Novices. All were gather together in Pousada (Rest House) in Tutuala for two days and two nights. From there they were guided by a group of professional Scouts (from Comoro Parish) for the whole day “guerrillas” in the jungle of Tutuala. There were a lot of activities during their trekking.
After all these physical exercises finally they were entertained by Fr. Rolando Fernandez in sharing his experiences on formation, vocation and missionary in occasion of his 55th anniversary as religious and Salesian. Congratulations… Fr. Rolando…!!!
