Harvesting the 2017 EAO Team Visit Fruits

By Our Own Correspondent

Hua Hin, Thailand, 11 March 2017 -- The Day 5 (March 11) of the Hua Hin 'EAO Salesian Pentecost' was marked also by full day EAO Provincials meeting, attended by all 11 EAO Provincials and 6 Superiors of the Delegations and presided by Fr. Klement, EAO Regional Councilor.

Main goal of this short encounter was to harvest the multiple fruits of the EAO 2017 Team Visit. After an initial presentation of two new Provincials and three new superiors of the Delegations and listening to their first months feelings and experience. Most of the time was dedicated to the accompaniment of the Delegations. Indeed there are not only 6 official delegations to accompany but also other 4 distant situations in most of the 11 provinces: Solomon Islands (PGS), Wa region (MYM), Northern Vietnam (VIE) etc. Among the main needs of our Delegations: lack of personnel, clear vision about their development, communications and basic charismatic animation.

The EAO Formation Coordinator Br. Raymond Callo presented the Revision of the Regional Formation Commission (after 7 years) and introduced incoming formation EAO events - Salesianity course (April 24-May 13, FIN - Paranaque), Pre-novice Directors formation (November 2017, FIS - Cebu) and EAO Regional Congress of Salesian Brothers (August 2018, VIE - K'Long).

Also many inter-provincial ventures were part of the discussions, like the temporary missionary movement with the necessary conditions: towards Japan, Cambodia and Pacific delegation, China province and PGS viceprovince.

Last but not the least was checked and discussed the EAO timetable for next 2-3 years (PGS - invitation for the Rectors Retreat with Fr. Chavez in July 2019). Next EAO provincials meeting is scheduled for March 5-9, 2018 in Dili, Timor Leste (ITM viceprovince).

Thanks to the high connectivity and daily communication of the Team Visit, many EAO Salesians were able to follow the proceedings, dialogue and main fruits of the main seven themes (AustraLasia n. 4314-4324). One of the active readers shares: 'Congratulations for the recently concluded EAO Team Visit. We were following it via FB and of course praying for its success. I hope our Superiors will find some opportunity to echo to us the results and resolutions.... I was struck by the Salesian Family document like "The Common Identity Card of the Salesian Family of Don Bosco. What is it exactly, and how do we "use" it? Viva Don Bosco!

We wish more our readers will interact via FB or Email for the good of the whole EAO region, growing together with an open dialogue. Yes - Rector Major emeritus reminded to offer this SF Identity Charter to all SF group members at occasion of their first profession, promise or pledge together with their respective Constitutions or Regulations.
