Sumba, Indonesia, 28 August 2016 -- More than 300 young people from different parishes and mission stations under the banner of SYM Sumba participated in the 3rd annual gathering of BOSCONIAN YOUTH ENCOUNTER SUMBA (BYES).
This annual gathering is organised by the Salesian community in Sumba to answer the need for formation of the youth of Sumba. This year the theme " Let Your Light Shine" was chosen by the youth themselves and it followed the invitation of Pope Francis to young people of the world to be street preachers (Evangelii Gaudium n. 106).
BYES began with the Presentation on the Pope's message to young people in the Krakow WYD 2016. Talk show on topics: Being creative and apostolic youth followed and was done in a very youthful and partecipative ways. Many received the sacrament of reconciliation during Taize prayer time. Indoor and outdoor Games, discussion and sharing on the Pope's message filled the three days event. See again next year in August!
